Dr. Dieudonnée Ness
Donnée Ness is a registered physiotherapist, having gained her BSc. Hons in 1990 at Wits University, RSA. She read her MSc. at University College London in 1997with research being aimed at diagnostic tests for meniscal injuries of the knee. On returning to South Africa in 2002, she furthered her passion for Oncology by obtaining her certification in Lymphoedema management through ACOLS in Florida, USA.
Her PhD research was carried out in the Provincial (Government) health sector and she has been awarded her Doctorate with her PhD thesis, titled: “Clavipectoral Fascia Release and its impact on Lymphoedema in Breast Cancer women of kwaZulu Natal”
Awards achieved: Donnee won the Sceales Antrobus prize in 2016 at the Surgical Research Society of South Africa conference and went onto present the same work in Feb 2017 at the 12th Academic Surgical Conference in Las Vegas and again at the World Confederation of Physiotherapy in Cape Town 2017. She remains passionate about advocating for better care for all oncology patients in a mixed resource setting.
Her practice has a number of areas of interest. Namely Oncology, Pelvic Health/Womens Health, Vertigo Orthopedics, and COPD. She maintains a strong interest in early intervention, from surgery, right through treatment to full function and return to activities of daily living for all conditions. Her team is sensitive to oncology and offer a wide range of supportive services to complement Donnée’s talents.
